A major highlight came in the Men’s 400m Class T53, where Pongsakorn crossed the finish line first with a blistering time of 46.78 seconds. This demolished his previous personal best and Games record of 49.63 seconds, set at the 2023 Games in Cambodia. While he didn’t quite eclipse his own World Record, the performance clearly demonstrated a massive leap forward in his development. He continued his hot streak in the Men’s 100m Class T53, rocketing across the line in 14.18 seconds to claim another gold. This run shattered the previous ASEAN Para Games record of 14.80 seconds and impressively erased his own Asian Record of 14.20 seconds, which he had established at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics.

In the 800m Class T53, Pongsakorn showcased his formidable endurance and power, taking gold with a time of 1:36.88 minutes, cementing his reputation as a complete racer equipped with both top-end speed and elite stamina. His success carried over to the team events in the Universal Relay (4x100m) Class T53-T54. The Thai quartet—comprising Suneporn Thanomwong, Amorntep Phonpunna, Sasirawan Inthachot, and anchored by Pongsakorn—unleashed their full speed to finish first in 47.21 seconds, taking the gold and beautifully closing out the athletics campaign for the Thai contingent.

Looking back at his global exploits, Pongsakorn previously made history at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics by sweeping 3 golds in the 100m, 400m, and 800m T53 events, becoming the first Thai para-athlete to achieve a triple-gold haul at a single Games. Adding his latest achievements to his Paralympic champion pedigree, “Korn” Pongsakorn Paeyo is much more than a multi-gold medalist; he is the ultimate symbol of determination, discipline, and the fighting spirit that elevates Thai para-athletics to world-class standards.

This sustained excellence is the direct result of systematic backing from the Sports Authority of Thailand, which actively drives the athletes through rigorous training, sports science, and top-tier international preparation. Pongsakorn’s next objective is to hunt for glory at the upcoming Asian Para Games and Paralympic Games.
